Zoom Whitening Of Teeth
“A smile is the universal welcome”,
This is a quote by Max Eastman. Your smile is one of the first things people will notice about you. This is the same reason why many are finding new and better ways to keep their teeth dazzling white. Tell me I’m right in saying that showing yellowish or graying teeth can really be embarrassing. Many are becoming less confident because of this problem. But technology has gone really far that many discoveries and inventions have started making life a lot easier and comfortable for everyone.
People having problems with their teeth color need not worry so much these days as there are various teeth whitening options to choose from. With the advent of cosmetic dentistry, dark teeth are not such a big bane anymore. There are even locally made products like toothpastes being sold in the markets. If you have money, you can get professional help anytime. Dentists offer different methods to whiten teeth. Among the growing number of whitening systems include Zoom. Zoom whitening has started to gain popularity because it promises quick result. In just a matter of forty-five to ninety minutes you can immediately notice that your teeth have become whiter by eight to ten shades. What’s good about Zoom whitening is that, based on testimonials, it can whiten stained teeth. Stained teeth means, the patient has been exposed to food, drinks or medicines that stain such as coffee, strawberries, tea, red wine, tetracycline and many others. Many dentists would refuse to bleach stained teeth because it hardly gets a result. I have a cousin dentist who has started to perform Zoom Whitening procedure. Almost all his customers were happy with the results.
How Zoom Whitening does whiten teeth?
To whiten teeth dentists apply Zoom Whitening gel to the enamel of teeth and will then be heated using a special lamp. (Enamel is the hardest and most mineralized substance of the body.) This heating process is needed to break down the gel and release oxygen into the dentin. Dentin is the substance between enamel of a tooth and the pulp chamber. The oxygen released is what bleaches the teeth. The patient will then be given a fluoride treatment immediately after the heating process. The gel being used in Zoom Whitening system has “twenty-five percent concentration of hydrogen peroxide and a pH between 7.5 and 9.” The heating process uses a mercury metal halide light and according to Discus Dental Inc., heating the teeth enhances the whitening effect of the gel applied to the teeth. The whole process will take about one and a half hours.
However, just like any other whitening system, Zoom Whitening system is not for everyone. People who are sensitive to light, those who are taking special medications or patients involved in photo-chemotherapy, patients diagnosed with melanoma, pregnant or nursing women are not allowed to undergo the Zoom Whitening treatment. And for those who are eligible to undergo the treatment, they may feel a little discomfort because of the light used. But, most of the time, it is in fact tolerable that patients can even fall asleep. Some patients don’t bother the light and would just listen to music, read books or newspapers and they don’t notice that the procedure is already done!
So, if you are concerned that your teeth might not be as white as it used to be and if you are sure you are eligible for the procedure, there’s no harm in trying the Zoom Whitening System. Your smile is worth so much!
